In the Atlantic Forest, land reform settlers in the Pontal do Paranapanema region of western Sao Paulo have planted 10 million trees across 6,000 hectares, reconnecting forest fragments into corridors that wildlife can move through. Their goal is 75,000 hectares by 2041. Restoration works when the people living on the land lead it.
